Detectives investigating the murder of a man in north London have offered a £20,000 reward as they continue to hunt his killers.

Mahad Abdi Mohamed, 27, was shot in the head in Waverley Road, Tottenham, shortly before 9pm on March 20.

He is thought to have been the victim of mistaken identity.

Scotland Yard believes the suspects, who got out of a stolen Mitsubishi Outlander which was later recovered burned out, were taking part in a targeted attack.

They are believed to have used a stolen blue Jaguar to drive to and from the Mitsubishi.

A 26-year-old friend of Mr Mohamed received treatment for a gunshot wound to his leg.

Met Police Handout picture: Appeal for information after innocent man shot dead Detectives are appealing for information three months after an innocent man was fatally shot in Tottenham, in what detectives believe is a case of mistaken identity. Mahad Abdi Mohamed, a much-loved son, brother and dad, died of a gunshot wound to the head following a shooting in Waverley Road, Tottenham at 20:45hrs on Thursday, 20 March. He had spent the evening shortly before the shooting with his friend at their home. They were breaking their fast outside when a stolen Mitsubishi Outlander approached and the suspects inside opened fire, striking Mahad multiple times. Multiple emergency services responded and tried to save him, but he later sadly died at hospital.

DCI Rebecca Woodsford, who is leading the investigation, said: ‘The loss of Mahad weighs heavy every day, but it will be particularly difficult for his loved ones to carry throughout their first festive season without him.

‘There is someone out there who knows what happened that night and we are urging those individuals to find it in their heart to come forward. It could be exactly what we need to locate those responsible.’

Police arrested four adult men in March and April on suspicion of murder who were subsequently bailed.
