Franck Haise is currently out of a job following his departure from OGC Nice at the end of December. The former RC Lens manager is now linked with the managerial role at Ligue 2 side AS Saint-Étienne.
Eirik Horneland is on the verge of leaving ASSE. Horneland was appointed midway through last season and couldn’t save the club from the drop back to Ligue 2. The objective this season was clear: get Les Verts back into the top-flight. However, the club currently sit fifth, albeit only two points back from second-place Red Star.
However, Kilmer Sports Ventures are expected to act swiftly. L’Équipe understands that Horneland announced his departure to his squad on Wednesday, and the publication adds that there are already talks ongoing regarding potential replacements.
Two candidates have been contacted, Haise and Philippe Montanier. The latter has not been in work since leaving Toulouse FC back in June 2023.
