Never, at any point in the season, did we believe we'd start something like a Declan Doyle watch. Why would we have needed to? The Philadelphia Eagles entered the most recent regular season as the defending champions, even if they didn't want to call themselves that. They had an offensive coordinator in place, one who had been around since the start of the Nick Sirianni era, so yeah... Who needed a Declan Doyle conversation?
Things changed. We're all aware, right? The Kevin Patillo idea bombed. What should have been a year-long march to another deep playoff run instead brought heartache, frustration, and disappointment, so here we are. Rather than preparing for a trip to Santa Clara, we're drawing comparisons between this season and the collapse of 2023, one of which is an unexpected offensive coordinator search.
Declan Doyle, after turning down the Eagles, may interview elsewhere.
We've all watched the entire process: the favored candidates who chose other opportunities, the interviews with guys nobody wanted, the guys we weren't monitoring who became realistic options. Declan Doyle, a man who hadn't yet celebrated his 30th birthday, earned an interview opportunity. Then, as so many before him had done, he withdrew from the conversation.
This story continues. One day after telling the Eagles 'No thank you', the Baltimore Ravens have entered the chat. Per the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs, they have also requested to interview the Chicago Bears' offensive coordinator.
The #Ravens have put in a slip to talk to #Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle.

What does that have to do with the Eagles, you ask? The answer is simple. Absolutely nothing! Think about this, though. If he were to accept for any reason, the discussions about Philadelphia's OC vacancy being an undesirable job will only amplify.
