Mikel Arteta says William Saliba and Jurrien Timber will miss Arsenal’s Champions League clash on Wednesday, but hopes to have them back involved at the weekend.
Neither player trained ahead of the game against Kairat Almaty, with Arteta’s side already having guaranteed themselves a place in the top two of the league stage of the competition.
It means Arteta is expected to name a much changed side for the game at the Emirates.
But the Spaniard eased any worries over Saliba and Timber, and says they have not got any more serious issues that will keep them out for the longer term.
“They have some niggles,” he said. “It’s a good opportunity now to have different kind of work with them to get them in the best possible condition for the weekend, hopefully.”
