The Oklahoma Sooners ended their three-game losing streak in a big way last week, upsetting No. 2 South Carolina in overtime. The Sooners then followed that up with a road win over Auburn to improve to 4-3 in SEC play and work their way back into the top 10 of the latest AP top 25.
The Sooners have put themselves in a position to be a host seed in the latest NCAA tournament bracketology from ESPN's Charlie Creme. Creme has the Sooners as the No. 4 seed in the Fort Worth regional. That region is headed by No. 1 UConn.
The Sooners would be slated to host No. 5 Duke, No. 12 San Diego State, and No. 13 Montana State, who Oklahoma would play in the first round.
Oklahoma will play Texas A&M on Thursday before back-to-back road games against Texas and Vanderbilt, a pair of teams that rank in the top five of the latest coaches' poll. It's a pivotal stretch for the Sooners if they want to maintain the opportunity to host in the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament.
