Pro-Wike Group urges Rivers residents to back Tinubu’s second-term bid

A political pressure group, Grassroots Democratic Voice (GDV), has appealed to residents of Rivers State to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

The group, which is aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, made the call during a media briefing in Port Harcourt.

Speaking to journalists, GDV Coordinator, John Ogolo, said the current administration has implemented policies and programmes that, in his view, have benefited Nigerians. He urged Rivers residents to support the president’s re-election to enable continuity of those initiatives.

Ogolo also encouraged the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara, to sustain the recent reconciliation efforts involving the president and the FCT minister, noting that political stability is important for governance and development in the state.

He further highlighted the role of political alliances and mentorship in Nigeria’s political landscape, particularly in Rivers State, where such relationships have historically influenced leadership dynamics.

The group’s remarks come amid ongoing political realignments and discussions ahead of the 2027 election cycle.
