The Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, has decorated 444 officers recently elevated from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP II), urging them to uphold professionalism, discipline and integrity in the discharge of their duties.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued February 18, 2026, by the 2IC Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Idi Yusuf.
According to Yusuf, the decoration ceremony, held at the Command Headquarters Conference Hall, was attended by senior police officers, as well as families, friends and well-wishers of the promoted officers.
Addressing the officers, Shetima described the promotion as a recognition of their hard work and dedication, approved by the Police Service Commission on the recommendation of the Inspector-General of Police.

“Promotion in the Nigeria Police Force comes with additional responsibility and higher expectations,” he said, charging the officers to justify the confidence reposed in them.
He urged the newly decorated ASPs to serve as exemplary leaders, maintain strict discipline and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
According to him, their new rank demands accountability and respect for human rights in line with the ethics of the Force.
The police chief also warned against conduct capable of tarnishing the image of the Command and the Nigeria Police Force, stressing that integrity and discipline remain the foundation of effective policing.
“The public’s trust and confidence must be earned and sustained through transparency, fairness and dedication to duty,” he added.
CP Shetima reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to operational efficiency, capacity building and improved service delivery across Nasarawa State, encouraging the officers to contribute meaningfully to ongoing efforts to combat crime and criminality.
