Gov Alia pledges construction of Nyihemba–Anwase–Abande Road

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has pledged to construct the Nyihemba–Anwase–Abande road to ease movement and strengthen security patrols and rapid response.

The governor made the pledge on Tuesday when he visited Turan in Kwande Local Government Area to obtain first-hand information on the recent attacks on Anwase and Abande communities.

Assuring the people that they are not alone and that their lives and dignity remain his foremost priority, Governor Alia promised to engage relevant authorities to ensure that network providers install a booster in the area to facilitate swift communication in times of emergency.

According to a statement by his spokesman, Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia, who condemned the unprovoked attacks, assured the community of his readiness to deepen collaboration and provide necessary logistics to security personnel currently deployed to restore peace in the affected areas.

He further assured the people that relief would come soon, stating that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been duly briefed on the situation and has directed reinforcements to the area.

Governor Alia made a stopover in Nyihemba, where he met with traditional rulers of Kwande Local Government Area led by the Tor Kwande, HRH Ambrose Pine Iortyer, before proceeding to Tomataan and Anwase, where he addressed residents, many of whom were directly affected by the attacks.

The governor later addressed the people of Turan at Jato-Aka and pledged to restore electricity in the area by providing a new transformer.
