Jigawa Golden Stars Football Club has urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Appeal Committee to swiftly deliver its verdict on the dispute surrounding their abandoned match against Gombe United.

In a statement issued in Dutse, the club’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Isyaku, stressed the need for a resolution before the scheduled return fixture.

He recalled that the first-leg match, played on March 7, 2025, in Gombe, was abandoned following an incident on the field.

The NFF Complaints Committee later ruled in favour of Golden Stars, fined Gombe United N2.5 million, and ordered the remainder of the match to be played at a neutral venue.

“Gombe United, however, appealed the decision to the NFF Appeal Committee,” Isyaku said, noting that no final decision has been communicated yet.

He called on the NFF to postpone the return match until the appeal is resolved, while reaffirming the team’s commitment to earning promotion back to the Nigeria Premier Football League.

“Golden Stars remain focused on achieving our goal despite the ongoing uncertainty,” he added.
