This 1963 Fiat 500D was first registered in Siracusa on the island of Sicily in January 1963. It underwent a repaint, interior re-trim, engine rebuild, and more as part of a refurbishment completed by Dispenza Cars of Ventimiglia di Sicilia in 2025. Finished in Verde Oasi with a red folding soft top over red vinyl upholstery, the car is powered by an air-cooled 499cc twin fitted with a single Weber downdraft carburetor and mated to a four-speed manual transaxle. It is accompanied by body-color rear hardtop paired with a red folding roof panel and is further equipped with a removable luggage rack and wicker basket along with rebuilt Veglia Borletti instrumentation, drum brakes, and ivory-finished 12″ steel wheels. This 500D is now offered in with a car cover, a build summary, and Italian registration documents.

The body was disassembled, sandblasted, and coated with an anti-corrosion treatment before being repainted in its current Verde Oasi finish as part of the aforementioned build.

The car is equipped with a full-length red folding soft top and accompanied by a body-color rear hardtop complemented by a red folding roof panel. Further details include Carello headlamps, rear-hinged doors, and chrome bumpers as well as a removable luggage rack with a wicker basket.

The ivory-finished 12″ steel wheels wear polished hubcaps and are mounted with 125/80 Nuvolari TN1 whitewall tires. The suspension and drum brakes were overhauled in the course of the refurbishment.

The redone interior houses individual front seats and a rear bench trimmed in red vinyl with ivory accents. Color-coordinated red vinyl covers the door and side panels, while the floors are lined with black rubberized coverings as well as red-accented mats.

The ivory-finished steering wheel fronts a rebuilt Veglia Borletti 110-km/h speedometer with suggested shift points and inset warning lights. The five-digit odometer was reset and now shows 5 kilometers (~3 miles).

The air-cooled 499cc inline-twin breathes through a single Weber downdraft carburetor. The engine was rebuilt as part of the refurbishment project.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.

Photos taken at various stages of the refurbishment can be seen in the gallery.

A document from Dispenza Cars detailing the refurbishment process is shown above.
