Born in 1945, High Chief Ofoma who hailed from Ezinifite community in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, slept in the Lord after a brief illness on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the riped age of 80. He fought galantly on the side of Biafra during the civil war under Ojukwu’s close supervision, which earned him a nickname: ‘Abazoka’.
Until his death, Ofoma was a major liquor distributor to both the Nigerian Breweries Plc, Guinness Nigeria Limited, Interfact Breweries and other reputable breweries across Nigeria with the headquarters of his registered company, Ofoma and Sons Limited domiciled between old Ogbunike Toll Gate and Building Materials International Market, Ogidi, near the commercial city of Onitsha, Anambra State.
His eldest son, Sir Chinedu Ofoma, a Knight of St. Christopher, KSC in the Anglican Church, confirmed his father’s demise to newsmen in Onitsha, adding that burial arrangements would be announced later after wide consultation by the family.
Meantime, condolence messages have continued to pour in from eminent personalities both from Nigeria and in the diaspora, according to condolence registers opened at both his company’s headquarters, residential home at Omagba Phase 2, Onitsha and his home town, Ezinifite.
