Celebrity Traitors will return for a second season, but it seems there is one group of stars that will be missing from the line-up.

After a record-breaking first season of the star-studded BBC reality series spin-off, fans are waiting with bated breath to see which cohort of famous faces will arrive in the castle next.

Could Danny Dyer make a wicked Traitor? Will Jamie Oliver charm his way through as a Faithful? Who exactly we can expect remains to be seen.

Whoever they are, they have a tough act to follow after an astounding season one line-up, including Sir Stephen Fry, Celia Imrie and Jonahan Ross, Cat Burns and of course, our treacherous winner Alan Carr.

One TV star we definitely won’t be watching on our screens come autumn, however, is Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby, 35, who has claimed she is not allowed to join the cast despite her fervent wish to do so.

‘I would love to do that, but you do know they’ve got a no reality rule. That is a genuine fact,’ she said in a recent interview.

Pulling the curtain back on her experience of the selection process, the TV personality continued: ‘My agent is on the line and he will confirm. They take no reality stars. A lot of shows have this rule.

Still, she’s holding out hope that the BBC might relax their grip further down the line.

As she explained to The Sun: ‘I’m A Celebrity used to have this rule. But it gets to the point where they’ve obviously run out of big names so they have to start delving into reality.

‘So they’ll have this rule for maybe three or four series and then they might have to break the mould a bit. As soon as they do, I will be there with my f**king cloak.’

Although she may not be starring in Celebrity Traitors just yet, she has appeared on Celebrity Big Brother and I’m A Celebrity…. Get Me Out of Here.

The BBC provided no comment when Metro reached out.

The Celebrity Traitors line-up has been subject to plenty of discourse over the months, with plenty of pressure on the BBC to deliver a high-calibre cast.

Sir Stephen, who had previously ruled out reality show appearances, revealed how he had been brought round.

‘I always promised myself I would never be on a reality show, but I watched the game, and I thought this is the most revealing thing I have ever seen about the human mind

‘It’s vulnerability, it’s fragility, it’s failure. Can we read people? Can we deceive people?

‘It’s a very basic question from high politics to everyday life we ask ourselves, and being in it was a genuine thrill,’ he said on The One Show ahead of the show airing.

Not everyone has been convinced, however.

Apprentice star Baroness Karren Brady revealed she had been approached but turned it down.

‘One, I’ve never seen it. Two, I don’t have the time. I mean, I have a full-time job and The Apprentice is filmed just in my sweet spot in the summer when the football season is over, so I can just about fit in. But that’s it,’ she explained.

As for season two, beyond Danny and Jamie, there are plenty more rumoured contestants, including Cheryl Cole, Alison Hammond and Ruth Jones – to name a few.

Celebrity Traitors is streaming on BBC iPlayer now. The second season is expected to arrive in late 2026.
