India’s first UCI 2.2 professional cycling race, the Pune Grand Tour, has impressed the sport’s global governing body, with the UCI considering an upgrade as early as next year. Praising organisation, international participation and fan response, UCI director general Amina Lanaya said Pune could become a reference race in Asia and even a future World Championships host.
