A pensioner has died after being mown down in an Asda car park as she returned to her car.
The 78-year-old woman, who has not been named, was struck behind the supermarket’s Greenfield Lane branch in Oldham, Greater Manchester.
She had been carrying her shopping from the store when the Peugeot Express van hit her shortly before 7pm yesterday.
The van driver, a 35-year-old man, had been heading towards the car park’s exit, according to police.
He has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Several ambulances and squad cars arrived at the scene and a section of the car park was cordoned off.
Greater Manchester Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage to come forward.
