Woman charged with murder after man killed, another critically injured in fire

A woman has been charged with murder and attempted murder following a fatal house fire in Melbourne's south-east.

The 29-year-old woman was taken to hospital under police guard after the fire tore through a share house on Sunburnt Circuit in Clyde North about 1.45am on December 18.

Two men, aged 46 and 44, were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Two men in their 40s are fighting for life after the fire tore through the Clyde North home.

The 44-year-old man died from his injuries later that evening.

The 46-year-old remains in hospital in a stable condition.

A 43-year-old woman, aN 11-year-old child and a support dog managed to escape the blaze unharmed.

It took firefighters around two hours to bring the fierce flames under control.

The 29-year-old has been charged with both murder and attempted murder by detectives from the Arson and Explosives Squad this morning.

She has been remanded and will face court tomorrow.

Police believe the parties were known to eachother.
