The Prince and Princess of Wales’ annual salary for 2025 has been revealed and – spoiler alert — it’s a lot. It was a busy year for William and Kate, from the future queen announcing her cancer remission to the couple moving into their ‘forever home’ of Forest Lodge. (Picture: Getty Images)
2025 also saw Prince William moving forward with his mission to modernise the monarchy as he prepares to become King. The 43-year-old shared his plans to make ‘significant changes’ to the Royal family, telling actor Eugene Levy that he wants to ‘create a world in which [his] son is proud of what [they] do. A world and a job that actually does impact people’s lives for the better.’ (Picture: Getty Images)
But in terms of the funds the family have earned and generated, the Duchy of Cornwall estate’s Integrated Annual Report revealed that William and Kate brought in £22.9 million (or $30.9 million) for the 2024 to 2025 fiscal year. According to the report, the income covers the public, private and charitable expenses for the couple, plus their three children: Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven. But the wealth doesn’t end there. When King Charles III ascended the throne in 2022, following the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William inherited the Duchy of Cornwall title and its estate. This is a giant, private estate, first established in 1337 by King Edward III, to cover the expenses — and provide an income — of the British monarch’s eldest son. (Picture: Getty Images)
Currently, the state consists of over 130,000 acres of land, farms, property, forests, and coastline across 23 counties in England, and is managed by a council that supports the Duke of Cornwall (William’s other official title) and his family. Its public endeavours focus on sustainability, community benefit, climate action, and mental health, to name a few. Currently, it’s worth a reported $1 billion (and then some). On New Year’s Day, Kate and William took to social media to wish their followers around the world a happy New Year. The couple also thanked them for a ‘brilliant 2025,’ and shared that they’re ‘looking forward to 2026.’ The post featured plenty of highlights from the year just gone, including Kate’s annual carol service, trips across the world, and the Lionesses’ historic win at the 2025 Euros. Many took to the comments section to wish the family well and said that their highlight of the year was Kate’s remission. Others wished the ‘most inspiring family and power couple’ who represent ‘true leadership, and a humble life of service’ a happy New Year, as further fans said they ‘can’t wait to see’ what the Wales’ ‘get up to in 2026.’ (Picture: Getty Images)
Finally, if Kate and Will hadn’t done enough in 2025, 2026 will see them take on more responsibility than ever. Last year, King Charles bestowed them the titles of Grantors of Royal Warrants, which they’ll officially take on in Spring 2026. This gives them the authority to publicly endorse their favourite brands (but only ones that have supplied the Royal Household with ‘products or services on a regular and ongoing basis’ for at least five of the last seven years). In July, Royal journalist Richard Palmer told Town & Country that this title is the ‘gold standard of endorsements,’ and that ‘Kate’s warrant will be especially sought after.’ (Picture: Getty Images)
