President Donald Trump has called for prominent Democrats linked to Jeffrey Epstein be named and shamed.

He said all Democrats associated with the paedophile financier should be named to ’embarrass’ them.

Thousands of files, including photos of professors and celebrities, relating to Epstein’s estate have been released by the Department of Justice (DoJ).

In a post on Truth, Mr Trump’s ‘free speech’ social media site, he said the publication of files from Epstein’s estate was a ‘witch hunt’ and a ‘Democrat inspired hoax’.

He said: ‘The Dems are the ones who worked with Epstein, not the Republicans.

‘Release all of their names, embarrass them, and get back to helping our Country!’

So far, prosecutors have come under fire for drip feeding information and missing the deadline of December 19 to release everything.

A lot of the evidence has been heavily redacted.

The DoJ said this is to protect victims’ anonymity.

Before Christmas, tens of thousands of files were released in the biggest publication from the investigation so far.

The DoJ said on X that some of what was published included ‘untrue and sensationalist claims made against President Trump’ which are ‘unfounded and false’.

The references to Trump include an email from a US attorney which says he travelled on Epstein’s private plane ‘many more times than previously reported’.

He was listed as a passenger ‘on at least eight flights’ between 1993 and 1996, the email said.

On one journey the only passengers onboard were Trump, Epstein and a 20-year-old woman.

Mr Trump has always denied wrongdoing and said he stopped being friend with him before Esptein’s arrest on sex trafficking charges.

So far, pictures of former Democrat president Bill Clinton have been released.

The images show Mr Clinton swimming with Esptein’s former girlfriend and convicted child sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell and another person.

The former president was also seen dining next to Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger.

The photos are often released without captions or wider context.

An individuals’ appearance in them does not suggest or prove wrongdoing.

On Christmas Eve, US authorities uncovered more than a million further documents that could relate to the investigation.

It’s not clear how they came across the files, and the DoJ was informed.

The justice department said on X: ‘We have lawyers working around the clock to review and make the legally required redactions to protect victims, and we will release the documents as soon as possible.

‘Due to the mass volume of material, this process may take a few more weeks.

‘The Department will continue to fully comply with federal law and President Trump’s direction to release the files.’
