Trial is scheduled in Wayne County for a Pontiac man who allegedly killed a 3-year-old child while driving a bus in Hamtramck last summer.
The jury trial is set to begin on May 12 in Detroit for Marvin Lee Flentroy, 64, charged with reckless driving causing death for the July 16, 2024 incident. Flentroy was working for Auxilio Services — which transports Hamtramck Public School students — when he reportedly struck the child with the bus, killing her.
According to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, Flentroy was turning onto Burger Street from MacKay Street when the child was hit. Medical personnel transported her to a local hospital where she died from her injuries.
Flentroy faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted. For now, he’s out of custody on a personal bond, which requires no cash or surety to be posted.
Court records show 3rd Circuit Judge Tracy Green will preside over the trial.
