The Kardashians are never far from controversy, but this time it’s Kourtney Kardashian’s husband, Travis Barker, in the firing line.
The couple are known for being a little out there when it comes to oversharing, so it’s no surprise that even a humble Christmas haul has caused a kerfuffle.
Travis’ daughter Alabama took fans through her many, many, many presents Christmas and birthday, including from the Blink-182 drummer, 50.
‘So my dad went a little crazy at Agent Provocateur,’ the 20-year-old said in her almost 10-minute-long video before revealing lingerie, robes, and corsets.
Agent Provocateur is a luxury lingerie brand, known for corsetry and cult bras worn by everyone from Beyonce to … well, apparently Alabama.
She even noted that the girl in the store ‘knows her’ so ‘gave recommendations’ after the first few were ‘picked out’ by step-mum Kourt.
Alabama, whose birthday is on Christmas Eve, showed off a handful of bras before bringing over a pile of corsets, some see-through, while others were black or bedazzled.
Also in her haul was a cheetah print slip dress for sleeping in and a red tulle robe — again see-through — which retails for £795.
While many were hyping up the gifts, which included some from Kylie Jenner, others were shocked that Travis would buy his daughter lingerie.
Daniellefjx commented: ‘”So my dad went a little crazy at Agent Provocateur” is a WILD thing to say’.
Fans defended the move, saying it was likely Kourtney went to the store and Travis simply paid, but the mere thought of being bought undies by your dad was too ‘cringe’ for many.
Over on Reddit, the clip was shared with the caption: ‘Is this normal to y’all?’
It seems for most redditors, no, this was not normal as they declared it was ‘really weird’.
‘My mom would buy me nightshirts or robes or lingerie as a gift, but… not sexy ones that I would use with my boyfriend, lol,’ wrote kartrashian_observer.
Others said this was just ‘too much’, even if Travis and Alabama have a ‘close relationship’.
Even though she has her own house, the 20-year-old often stays with her dad and Kourtney, who share son Rocky as well as their blended family.
Alabama’s relationship with her mum, Shanna Moakler, has been strained in the past, although it’s believed they are on good terms now.
While it is unlikely that the drummer walked into the store and handpicked everything, many felt the concept of buying your child ‘sexy’ lingerie is ‘pretty odd’.
‘Yeah, it’s weird but the corsets look like stuff she’ll probably wear outside lol,’ Substantial_Chest395 reasoned. ‘The only real “intimates” are the bras and panties, and then the sleep slip and robe, I think, aren’t that weird.
‘But yes, it’s weird! But the family has no boundaries, so not that shocking to me.’
Other commenters said it was just ‘girl dads showing up for their daughters’ and praised Travis for having such a comfortable relationship with Alabama.
Lysi wrote: ‘My dad gives my mom the money and she gets stuff from VS and its from both of them.’
Alabama’s total haul was worked out to have potentially cost over $200,000 (£148,000), although that’s a drop in the ocean for Travis, who has an estimated net worth of $50million (£39.5million).
