FC Barcelona is continuing its strategy of recruiting high-potential young talent. In this context, the Catalan club is about to strengthen its reserve team with two promising prospects during the ongoing winter transfer window.
Two gems soon in Catalonia
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Barça is on the brink of finalizing the arrival of Dutch centre-back Juwensley Onstein (18), who plays for Jong Genk, as well as Uruguayan left-back Patricio Pacífico (19), currently at Defensor Sporting. Only the official announcement remains.
A left-footed player with solid physical strength, Onstein plays for the reserve team of the Belgian club. Valued for his versatility and tactical discipline in defence, he will be out of contract at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Pacífico has entered the final stages of negotiations. The Uruguayan left-back is currently on his way to Barcelona, accompanied by his agent, to finalize the last details of his transfer.
Both players are expected to join FC Barcelona Atlètic, managed by Juliano Belletti, and are not, at this stage, part of the immediate plans for the first team.
