Tour of Oman 2026 to begin on Feb 6

Muscat – The 15th edition of the Tour of Oman International Cycling Race will begin on February 6, 2026 organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in cooperation with Oman Cycling Association.

The organising committee has approved a five-stage route, opening with Muscat Classic, a 179.165km race from Al Mouj to Al Bustan.

The first official stage will start from the Al Khuwair Flagpole in Muscat and finish at Hawiyat Najm in Quriyat, covering a distance of 174.838km.

Stage 2 will take riders from Al Fayhaa in Samail to Jabal al Sharqi in Al Hamra over 193.442km. Stage 3 will begin in front of Rustaq Fort and conclude at the heights of Yiti, spanning 194.968km. Stage 4 will run from Al Suwadi Beach in Barka to Suhar, covering 151.263km, while the final stage will start in Nizwa and finish in Jabal Akhdar, covering 159.270km.

The tour will see participation of 18 international teams, including Alpecin–Deceuninck, EF Education–EasyPost, Groupama–FDJ United, Movistar Team, Jayco AlUla, Team Visma, UAE Team XRG, Soudal Quick-Step, XDS Astana Team, Lotto Intermarché, Uno-X Mobility, Cofidis and Q36.5  Pro Cycling Team, Tudor Pro Cycling Team, Caja Rural–Seguros RGA, Burgos Burpellet BH and the Oman national team.

The Tour of Oman continues to play an important role in showcasing the sultanate’s landscapes, cultural heritage and tourism assets to a global audience. The race is broadcast internationally, highlighting routes that connect coastal areas with demanding mountain climbs.

Beyond competition, the event supports tourism promotion and economic diversification by drawing international attention to destinations across several governorates. It also consolidates Oman’s position on the global sporting calendar while encouraging community participation and the development of local cycling talent.
