Sydney driver allegedly makes Nazi salute before road rage assault

A Sydney driver has allegedly made a Nazi salute and assaulted another man before fleeing the scene in a troubling road rage attack in the city's north-west.

The incident occurred yesterday when a 48-year-old man was driving along the road, and a black ute stopped in front of him.

The driver got out of the ute and allegedly used a Nazi salute, assaulted the man and fled the scene.

Following initial investigations, police went to a house on Cockatoo Road, Erskine Park, where a 50-year-old man was arrested.

He was taken to St Mary's Police Station, where he was charged with knowingly displaying by public act a Nazi symbol without excuse, and common assault.

The man was refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today.
