Like all bullies, Coronation Street’s Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) is painfully insecure deep down.
The sinister scaffolder’s raging jealousy has fuelled his toxic abuse towards Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), accusing his boyfriend of flirting with any man who gives him so much as a smile.
So fans should be worried in upcoming episodes when Summer accidentally pokes the bear by introducing Todd to a man that Theo could never measure up to in a million years – the sexy priest from Fleabag.
That’s right. Andrew Scott himself. Whilst the Corrie Christmas budget may not stretch to an appearance from Moriarty of BBC’s Sherlock himself, Summer is able to cobble enough cash together to buy Todd tickets to an Andrew Scott retrospective – because she knows that Todd’s always fancied him. Any normal boyfriend would take that with good humour.
Not Theo. Within seconds, Todd’s on the receiving end of his trademark glower…
…and as their guests play charades, Theo loses his temper and smashes a wine glass on the floor.
This is a giant red flag. We’re talking about a man who force fed Todd a kebab and poured milk over his head just because he wasn’t bending over backwards to cater to his every whim.
He even smashed Todd’s face into a mirror because of his inability to control his insecurities. What will Theo do this time?
