South Bay Lakers recap: G League Lakers get easy win over Skyhawks

The South Bay Lakers continued an extended homestand on Tuesday when they hosted the College Park Skyhawks. They came in with a 6-6 record and looked to go over .500 after losing five of their six previous games.

They fell behind 35-24 at the end of the first quarter and looked to be in trouble. They still trailed 68-60 at halftime, but afterward, South Bay clamped down defensively and held the Skyhawks to just 39 second-half points, allowing it to come away with a 121-107 victory.

Overall, it held the Skyhawks to 39.6% shooting from the field and 28.9% from 3-point range, and it forced 19 turnovers while scoring 29 points off those miscues. Seven of its players scored in double figures, and it had a robust total of 28 assists.

The Lakers' starting backcourt of R.J. Davis and Kobe Bufkin shot a combined 11-of-32 from the field, but they combined for 11 assists against just three turnovers. Rookie Augustas Marciulionis had 10 assists off the bench, and big man Kylor Kelley grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked six shots.
