If you thought The Masked Singer UK couldn’t get any more wacky, then think again. Want proof? The Christmas characters line-up has been revealed.
Hosted by I’m A Celebrity… Unpacked’s Joel Dommett, 40, the show challenges a set of famous faces to perform in disguises for a panel of celebrity judges.
Our judging panel will once again be made up of broadcaster and former Traitor Jonathan Ross, TV show host Maya Jama, presenter Davina McCall and comedian and presenter Mo Gilligan.
Earlier this year, we saw Macy Gray storm off the show dressed as a toad, while a Pufferfish (Samantha Barks) took home the crown.
The Masked Singer: Christmas Special, which airs on Boxing Day, will have to go a long way to beat that awkward but iconic moment.
One thing is for certain: viewers and judges are going to have their work cut out guessing which celeb is behind the mask of these festive characters.
Santa’s Sack
First up, we’ve got Santa’s Sack.
The important vessel holding precious cargo will be prancing around before the judges – let’s hope they’ve been nice and not naughty!
Theories around who could be behind the mask have already begun on X, with Demi writing: ‘Maybe there will be a surprise, and either Rita (a former panellist) or Maya will be under the mask, like Davina was last year!’
Mistletoe
Next, there’s Mistletoe.
Dressed in striped tights and adorning some luscious lips, will they make the judges swoon?
They’ve already got fans as @rose.coloured.char said on Instagram: ‘Omg they are amazing!’
Goose A-Laying
From everybody’s favourite sing-along Christmas song, we’ve got a Goose A-Laying – we’re assuming there’ll be just one, and not six?
‘Christmas quacker?’ @lou2308x joked on Instagram. A pun even Joel would be jealous of.
@samueljdoherty has placed his bets early, writing on X: ‘Calling it. Goose is winning.’
Figgy Pudding
Now bring us… Figgy Pudding.
We’re sure they will be ‘pudding their best foot forward’ and fans are already excited, with @lauramitchem1 saying she ‘can’t wait’.
As for who could be behind the mask, Jason Momoa once ate figgy pudding in a clip on social media … stranger things have happened.
And what’s Christmas without a pantomime?
In case the panel get stuck guessing who is behind the mask, they’ll have an array of clues given to them by some icons from the panto world.
Su Pollard will appear as a Fairy Godmother, alongside Christopher Biggins and the dame, Lesley Joseph as Wicked Stepmother, and Basil Brush as Prince Charming – of course!
In previous seasons, we’ve had celebrities dressed in everything from a sausage costume to an air-fryer outfit.
Hiding underneath the crazy get-ups have been musicians like Danny Jones and Charlotte Church, presenters like Alex Brooker and Lorraine, andmore stars.
@hlp10399 commented on the show’s success, writing on Instagram: ‘It’s crazy how much we all adore this show.’
A new series of The Masked Singer starts on January 3, 2026, with a whole host of famous hidden faces hoping to sing their way into our hearts.
The Christmas Special will air on Boxing Day at 7.30pm on ITV1.
