Samajwadi Party leader Amrendra Nishad narrowly escaped an assassination attempt by his cousin, Ravindra Nishad, who allegedly fired a shot at him at his Gorakhpur residence. The bullet missed Nishad's chest, and the accused has been taken into custody. Investigations are underway following the incident.
