Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar's aircraft crashed near Baramati airport shortly after being cleared to land, killing all five on board. The aircraft, registered VI-SSK, had initiated a go-around earlier due to the runway not being in sight. Flames were observed near the runway threshold moments after the landing clearance.
