Royal Oak launches search for school superintendent, seeks community input

The Royal Oak school board has officially begun the search process for a new superintendent, planning to select a candidate so they can start on July 1.

The board has partnered with the Michigan Association of School Boards to facilitate the search.

As part of this process, the board actively seeks input from the Royal Oak Schools community, including residents, staff, and administrators. Feedback will help shape the ideal candidate profile and guide the selection process.

An online survey is now available to gather insights from the community: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RoyalOakSuptSearch.

The board will publicly review the feedback and use it to develop a candidate profile, which will serve as a foundation for recruiting and selecting candidates for public interviews.

“The selection of a superintendent is one of the most important responsibilities of a Board of Education,” said Board President Tim Ciechorski. “We want to ensure that our next leader reflects our community’s values, priorities, and goals. We encourage everyone to participate in this process by providing their input.”
