Qurum – Royal Oman Police (ROP) has successfully arrested five Asian nationals on charges of human trafficking. The suspects are alleged to have lured a female compatriot into forced labour through deceptive means, subsequently depriving her of her personal liberty and confiscating her identification documents.
During the same enforcement action, police detained an additional fifteen Asian women found to be in breach of local labour and expatriate residency laws. The authorities have confirmed that all individuals were arrested at the same location as part of a coordinated crackdown on criminal activities and administrative violations. Legal proceedings are currently being finalised against all twenty detainees as the Sultanate continues its rigorous efforts to uphold the rule of law and protect vulnerable individuals from exploitation.
