Joao Neves and Fabián Ruiz have missed recent matches through injury, however, the pair return for Paris Saint-Germain’s final UEFA Champions League ‘League Phase’ campaign, against Newcastle United.
Luis Enrique joked that the UCL was “the best medicine” as both of his midfielders recovered from injuries in order to be fit for this game. Ruiz may start the encounter, however, Warren Zaire-Emery is expected to start in midfield. The France international can move back into his favoured position thanks to the return of Achraf Hakimi from the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Ousmane Dembéle, on the bench during the weekend win over AJ Auxerre, is expected to start up front for PSG, however, there may be no place for Désiré Doué. Lee Kang-in is the only major absentee for the reigning European champions.
