While everyone has paid an ample attention to the Nittany Lions' exploits in the transfer portal, today Penn State announced their 11 early enrollees in the class of 2026. Some of these early enrollees include a four star QB prospect who went through a roller-coaster of a recruiting process, several walk-ons, and of course, several players who flipped from head coach Matt Campbell's prior school, Iowa State.

Peyton Falzone may just be the headliner of the group, as the in-state QB and four star recruit was highly coveted by many programs. He is one of only two recruits to have committed to the Nittany Lions before Campbell had become the head coach. Still, after originally being a verbal commit to Auburn, he flipped to Penn State to stay close to home.

The other early signee was four star edge rusher Jackson Ford, the first player to sign with the Nittany Lions in his class. The Malvern Prep standout also had countless offers from other Big Ten schools, such as Michigan, Ohio State, and Wisconsin.

As for the walk-ons, the highlight of the bunch is State College High's D'antae Sheffey, a running back the Penn State coaching staff hope can be a hidden gem for them. The local star rushed for over 3,800 yards in his high school career with the Little Lions and also played both ways.

Another under-the radar prospect was three star defensive back Josiah Zayas out of New Jersey. He had originally signed with Iowa State earlier in the month, but committed to Penn State after Campbell was hired. He played at two different high schools in his high school career, finishing at Piscataway High School.
