NORMAN — The OU Board of Regents will consider the contracts of new athletic director Roger Denny and tight ends coach Jason Witten, as well as adjustments for several coaching contracts during its meeting Jan. 29-30.

Among the new appointees is the previously unreported addition of senior strength and conditioning trainer Matthew Manninger, who most recently served as Illinois' assistant strength and conditioning coach since 2021 while Denny was the Illini's deputy athletic director.

Regents will also consider the contract, compensation and title change for James Dobson, who is shifting from director of sports performance and strength and conditioning as Jerry Schmidt's title moves to professional consultant.

Dobson and Manninger spent time at Vanderbilt together. Schmidt's salary is set to change from $285,000 annually to $145,000.

Other football personnel members who will have adjustments to their contracts considered include defensive tackles coach Todd Bates, offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh, defensive ends coach Miguel Chavis, assistant general manager Lake Dawson and senior special teams analyst Doug Deakin.

Others who will have their contracts considered include inside linebackers coach Nate Dreiling, scouting director Stacey Ford, safties coach Brandon Hall, wide receivers coach Emmett Jones, analyst John Kuceyeski, assistant general manager Taylor Redd, defensive backs coach Jay Valai and analyst Kevin Wilson.

Football operations administrator Woody Glass resigned on Dec. 2. Hall of Fame coach Bob Stoops will also be stepping away in full from his role as athletics senior administrative manager.

Longtime athletic director Joe Castiglione's title will officially change from vice president for intercollegiate athletics and director of athletics to emeritus athletic director.

Also included in the agenda were some major gifts to athletics. An anonymous donor gifted $25 million to OU athletics, while the Gaylord family also donated $25 million to OU athletics. Other anonymous gifts to athletics of $10 million and $7.5 million were included.
