Arsenal will hope to welcome back some of their injured stars for today’s Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest.
William Saliba and Leandro Trossard both started against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup midweek despite being doubts ahead of kick-off.
The Gunners emerged from that clash at Stamford Bridge without any fresh issues with Viktor Gyokeres also grabbing a goal that could be enough to preserve his place in the starting XI for another week.
Riccardo Calafiori was once again absent that night having not played since the win over Crystal Palace before Christmas, pulling up in the warm-up in the following game against Brighton.
As per usual, Mikel Arteta was giving absolutely nothing away when asked on the status of his injured contingent on Friday but did suggest in the week the Italy international was ‘weeks away’ from his return.
Piero Hincapie was another who missed out midweek after suffering a hamstring injury in the game against Liverpool.
The Ecuador international had been filling in for Calafiori at left-back in recent weeks with Myles Lewis-Skelly starting last weekend against Portsmouth.

Arteta however opted to name Jurrien Timber at left-back against Chelsea ahead of the Gunners youngster with Ben White on the right.
Cristhian Mosquera meanwhile is also recovering from an ankle injury with Max Dowman still sidelined with an ankle ligament injury.
Arsenal XI to face Forest – Metro prediction
Kai Havertz’s return to action and the availability of Gabriel Jesus has given Arteta a decision to make up top.
But for now, he has continued to place his face in Gyokeres who played 82 minutes against Chelsea.
Havertz came off the bench against both Portsmouth and Chelsea but might not be ready to start just yet after his five months out.
