Man, 35, allegedly stabbed to death in remote town

A 35-year-old man has died after being stabbed in the chest in a remote community in the Northern Territory.

Emergency services were alerted to an aggravated assault at a home in Laramba, a town with a population of around 275 people 205km north-west of Alice Springs, at 4.40am today.

They found the man seriously injured and rushed him to a clinic for treatment, but he died.

Officers from neighbouring towns and Alice Springs have travelled to Laramba and set up a crime scene.

Detectives from the major crime unit are also on their way.

Investigations are ongoing.
