Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul will both bank a very tidy sum when they meet in the boxing ring on Friday.
15 months on from his devastating defeat to Daniel Dubois, ‘AJ’ is back with grand plans for 2026 that include a third world title and a long overdue meeting with Tyson Fury.
Before then, he has signed up for a fight that would have been laughed off just a year or two ago.
Paul has lured in another big name to do battle with but unlike heavyweight legend Mike Tyson, one still very much in his prime years.
‘The Problem Child’ has been warned he is risking life and limb taking on the former Olympian.
Joshua meanwhile has been accused in some circles of damaging the legacy he has built over the last 13 years by accepting a fight with a man who was starring on the Disney Channel the same time he was winning his first world titles.
But there is a very obvious reason why both men were happy to sign on the dotted line.

Can Jake Paul beat Anthony Joshua? Metro prediction
Anything can happen in heavyweight boxing. Except this.
Paul has done a magnificent job disrupting the sport and establishing himself as a golden ticket for so many fighters. In five years, he has improved his skillset and carries genuine knockout power in both fists.
But the chasm between him and two-time heavyweight champion Joshua is too great. The former Olympian is a devastating finisher once he smells blood and with so much on the line heading into 2026, anything less than a demolition job will be seen as a failure.
How much Paul and Joshua will make in their fight
After the shock fight announcement in November, initial reports suggested Joshua and Paul would split a prize pot of around £140million.
Paul appeared to confirm that figure is substantially higher, however.
The American seemingly revealed the real sum last month when he tweeted: ‘Stop asking me. $267 Million.’
That works out at £206m so just over a cool £100m for each man.
How much did Jake Paul make fighting Mike Tyson?
Paul reportedly took home around £30m for his fight against the heavyweight legend, making it his biggest career payday until Joshua accepted his challenge.
Is this Anthony Joshua’s biggest ever fight purse?
Joshua however has cast doubt on some of those numbers after telling TMZ: ‘Unfortunately, it’s not [the biggest purse of my career],’.

The Briton reportedly banked £38m in his second round knockout victory over Francis Ngannou which is still short of the £56m payday he received in his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk in 2022.
