ITV presenter Sally Biddulph has shared a heartfelt message to fans as she left Good Morning Britain after 17 years at the broadcaster.
The anchor, 50, took to social media to mark the poignant occasion with a sweet caption reflecting on her time on the popular morning news show.
‘And that’s a wrap! Today is my last day [at ITV News] after 17 years. What a ride, what a privilege and what amazing colleagues. Time for a new chapter and adventures yet unknown with a later morning alarm clock!
‘So for one last time: Sally Biddulph, ITV News, London,’ she wrote.
Fans who have been used to seeing her on their screens for nearly two decades, delivering the biggest HLs of the day, shared their well-wishes for the host in the comments as she moves into the next phase of her career.
‘Wow! End of an era! Thank you for your help when I started all those years ago Enjoy your lie-ins!’ Tim Gatt wrote.
‘Saying goodbye to the wonderful Sally – who exemplifies the best of ITV News: talent, professionalism, friendliness and total charm,’ itvnewsinsider posted.
Fellow ITV News host Chris Ship shared: ‘Good luck Sally. You’ll be missed and have been a great colleague and friend to many for many years x’
She first joined broadcast journalism company ITV (Independent Television News) in 2009 and she has worked across National ITV news including as relief presenter for ITV News at 5:30pm and ITV Lunchtime News.
In 2014, she joined GMB for the first time.
Sally is not the only familiar Good Morning Britain face that has bid farewell after a lengthy tenure.
Elsewhere, broadcaster Andrew Pierce also marked his last day after almost a decade doing the paper analysis with Kevin Maguire on the early morning show.
He shared the ‘very sad’ news on TikTok, explaining it was due to a ‘scheduling clash’ with his new GB News show.
‘It has been a blast and I’ll miss it and I think you might miss me,’ he added, explaining that for those that might miss his and Kevin’s ‘sparring’ dynamic, the duo still have a podcast together, Pierce vs Maguire.
In October, another stalwart of the show announced their departure with journalist Richard Gaisford exited after 25 years on screens.
‘I have been privileged to have the best job in TV news for the last quarter of a century, trusted to take a front row seat at history making events all over the world.
‘I have worked with an incredible team of journalists and camera operators, broadcasting to a highly responsive breakfast audience.
‘I’m really excited about moving on to new opportunities in a fast-changing media world, starting another chapter in my career,’ he said of his departure.
It comes at a time of change for the ITV daytime roster with GMB extending by 30 minutes (so it runs from 6am to 9:30am) in the new year which means Lorraine will run from 9.30am to 10am for 30 weeks.
Good Morning Britain airs every weekday at 6am on ITV1.
