Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta has acknowledged the club’s interest in Al-Ittihad winger Moussa Diaby.
Speaking to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, Marotta confirmed that the Nerazzurri have already inquired about the player.
It’s no secret that Inter Milan are in the market for a new wingback to replace the injured Denzel Dumfries.
Furthermore, marquee summer signing Luis Henrique has failed to live up to expectations so far this season.
Therefore, the Brazilian could pack his bags in the coming days, with Inter already vying for the signature of Ivan Perisic.
However, PSV Eindhoven have been reluctant to discuss the veteran’s transfer, forcing Inter to expand their search.
Moussa Diaby has recently emerged as a potential target, with the 26-year-old looking to return to European football.
Indeed, Diaby left Aston Villa to join Al-Ittihad in the summer of 2024. But he’s now eager to leave Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, Inter have already made contact with the Riyadh outfit to gather information.

Asked about Inter’s rumored inquiry about Diaby, Marotta replied: “When I spoke about inquiries, I won’t hide that this option was included.
“But as of today, it’s a remote possibility because he’s an important player for his club, and it would be a very expensive operation.
“The chances are minimal, but we’re approaching this inquiry without pressure; we’ll see what happens in the coming days.”
Then, he addressed Inter’s pursuit of Perisic.
“I need to make two points,” Marotta added. “First: we’re not in an emergency situation.
“Then, we do want to strengthen the squad at our disposal, but it’s not easy to find players who can fit into this group in terms of quality.
“There’s no prejudice against making investments.
“Ausilio and Baccin are sounding out a few options, and we’ll see what happens between now and the end of the transfer window.
“That said, the group is responding to what the seasonal expectations are.”

“I’ve had the same thought myself, and I realize there’s been a regressive process,” Marotta claimed.
“The ranking also takes other competitions into account, and we’re close to Portugal and Spain, in a worse position than last year.
“We’ll see what happens tonight and what the Europa League matches will bring.
“But the picture is clear: the Premier League dominates, then add Bayern Munich, PSG, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, and that’s the snapshot.
“Italian football is in decline; we hope to put on good performances.”
Finally, he offered his expectations for tonight’s clash against Borussia Dortmund.
“It matters for the performance we have to put in tonight.
“It’s certainly an important test to approach the rest of the season with greater confidence.
“Reaching the last 16 is quite difficult, but we have to prepare ourselves for the playoffs; I think that’s a given.”
