David and Victoria Beckham led the high-profile guest list attending Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay’s wedding today.
The wedding took place at Bath’s Abbey to the backdrop of an ongoing family rift, which has coloured the lead-up to the nuptials between the Olympic swimmer, 30 and Gordon Ramsay’s 25-year-old daughter.
Earlier this week, Peaty’s mother, Caroline, who was uninvited from the wedding, confirmed she would not attempt to gatecrash the ceremony.
‘Me going would just cause even more of a storm and I don’t want to ruin his wedding day. I wanted to be there quietly to watch him get married, but that can’t happen now,’ she told the Daily Mail.
As for who was in attendance, the Beckhams (currently navigating their own familial strife amid a rift with son Brooklyn) were pictured at the venue as they celebrated the newlyweds.
It marks the couple’s first public outing since celebrating Christmas without their 26-year-old son, who recently blocked them on Instagram, as he shared his own festive celebrations with wife Nicola Peltz and her family.
They were joined by stars like chef Marcus Wareing and businesswoman Sara Davies.
Adam was also seen walking into the church with his son George, 4, who he shares with ex-girlfriend Eirianedd Munro.
Bride Holly was walked down the aisle by her celebrity chef father, who shared his own poignant message ahead of the ceremony.
‘I’m truly so lucky being able to walk this beautiful bride down the aisle and gaining an incredible son in law Adam Peaty!’he wrote in a message on Instagram alongside photos of him with his daughter.
‘I love you so much Holly Ramsay and couldn’t be a prouder Dad xxx,’ he added.
Holly was wearing a Christmasy floor-length, floral lace embroidered white gown with a smooth shawl and veil.
There was a fur-lined white cape draped around her shoulders as she left the Abbey to make her way to the opulent Georgian manor, Kin House.
All her family were in attendance, including her chef dad Gordon, her mother Tana, as well as her siblings, Matilda, 24, Megan, 27, Jack, 25, Oscar, six, and Jesse, who is one.
The drama between the Peaty family and their lack of attendance at the Peaty-Ramsay wedding erupted after Holly’s hen do at Soho Farmhouse, it is understood.
The event was attended by Victoria Beckham, her own mum Tana, and Adam’s sister Bethany (the latter is believed to be the only immediate member of Adam’s family joining him on the big day as one of Holly’s bridesmaids).
Caroline’s sister, Louise, called out Peaty on social media, saying his mum is ‘not ok’ and has been ‘broken’, claiming he has been ‘changed by money’.
Louise claimed that Adam was ‘ashamed’ of his brothers, with the family also going so far as to call him a ‘narcissist’ who has been ‘changed’ by money and has ‘forgotten where he came from’.
Adam’s brother James was also later reportedly arrested upon Adam’s return from his Budapest stag do.
The Olympian has regularly shared details of his close relationship to the Ramsay family, who he’s credited with helping him escape ‘three years of hell’ struggling with alcoholism and his split from his ex-girlfriend.
In a statement shared by Adam last month, he said: ‘Over the past few days, a lot has been reported and comments posted about the private life of Holly and myself.
‘My sister Bethany, has also been targeted. This has been almost entirely one-sided and, in many cases, excessive and intrusive. What makes it worse is that it has been encouraged by members of my family.’
Meanwhile, in a new interview with the Daily Mail, ahead of the wedding, Caroline revealed the anguish she is feeling.
‘I don’t think they understand how much they have hurt me; it’s as if they have cut my heart out.
‘This is the first Christmas that I’ve not had my family together – my family is broken.’
Explaining that her family is ‘split’ as a result of the ongoing drama, she added: ‘I don’t know if they are too young or don’t value family as much as I have, but they don’t understand that family is the foundation to everything. Family is the foundation you can return to when things get rough.’
Adam and Holly met when he competed on Strictly Come Dancing alongside her sister Tilly in 2021.
The swimmer then went public with Holly in June 2023, before going on to propose to her in September last year.
