Whether intentional or not, Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness), has always had an uncanny ability to cause utter chaos wherever she goes, and when she returns to EastEnders next week, it’s painfully apparent that nothing has changed.

Jasmine arrived in Walford with one mission, to make her long-lost mum, Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan), suffer, having teamed up with the perennially wicked (and damn glamorous) Chrissie Watts (Tracy-Ann Oberman). While on the Square. She tamed noted playboy Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier), gravely injured Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) and finally, bumped off her dad, Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey).

Although Zoe took the fall for the Christmas Day killing, her own mum, Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace), convinced that Chrissie struck the killing blow, has been determined to free her daughter from the clink.

As Kat attempted to push Jasmine into implicating Chrissie to the police, the young killer began to panic and, determined to avoid any suspicion, planned to skip town alongside Oscar, though abandoned him at the last minute with a note, informing him that she’s ‘better off alone’.

Cue Alice Deejay.

With Jasmine gone and Kat aware that she’d filed no police report, she turned back to hunting Chrissie down. When Jake Moon (Joel Beckett) visited Zoe, eager to discover for himself whether his beloved Chrissie had killed again, Kat saw her opportunity.

She tracked him to his boat and brought him home to reunite with Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), later convincing him to lure Chrissie into a trap and force a confession from her. Chrissie had no idea who Anthony was and was more bothered that her Christmas return had been upstaged by the presence of a corpse upstairs.

Wounded by Jake’s betrayal yet still dripping with pure, unadulterated venom, Chrissie taunted Kat before informing her that the killer she’s looking for has more than likely been under her roof the entire time: Jasmine herself.

Next week sees Anthony’s funeral, with a devastated Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) heartbroken at Jasmine’s absence. Meanwhile, a timely lead from Chrissie sees Kat find the missing murderer, luring her back to Walford for a showdown with her former co-conspirator.

The following day, while Kat is terrified that Jasmine has fled once again, she’s shaken even further when Jasmine is still in Walford and has cooked up a brand new plan; she and Kat should frame Chrissie for the murder.

It’s all too late, though, as the police soon arrive and Jasmine is taken into custody for the murder of her dad.

Having begged Oscar to find some evidence to prove her innocence, there’s a ripple effect across the Square when a traumatised Zoe is finally released and Patrick struggles to comprehend that his recently-discovered granddaughter was behind the death of his son.

While Jasmine, more often than not, has a handy ace or two tucked up her sleeve, it seems that this time, she’s got a bum hand.

But surely someone as wily as Jasmine can wriggle her way out of this?
