Millie Mackintosh previously revealed that her husband Hugo Taylor had threatened to divorce her three years ago.
The couple has reportedly split after seven and a half years of marriage, having got together after starring with each other on reality show Made In Chelsea.
They has also known each other before, since Millie was a teenager.
Tying the knot in 2018 and going on to welcome two daughters together, Sienna and Aurelia, the pair are said to have had ‘serious conversations about their future’ in recent weeks before deciding to part ways.
However, Millie had indicated tension in their relationship before due to her past heavy drinking, which caused issues.
Now sober, the media personality, 36, has been open about her struggles with alcohol and how they impacted on her life, even writing a book – Bad Drunk.
While promoting that book in January 2025 during an appearance on This Morning, she recalled the moment she decided to quit drinking.
‘It was making me really unhappy, it was really affecting my life, affecting my relationships, especially with my husband,’ she explained.
Host Ben Shephard then brought up an incident where she got drunk at a friend’s wedding, with Hugo, 39, reportedly telling her that their marriage was ‘going to end unless you deal with this’.
Millie responded: ‘Yes, and it had got to the point where I had really taken it too far and I’d really humiliated him. I was so embarrassed.’
She then revealed that that was her tipping pointing, adding: ‘It was a couple of days after that where I finally got to the point where I said “enough is enough now” – and that was two and a half years ago.’
Millie also spoke about the consequences of hiding her drinking and use of prescription pills from Hugo in a podcast episode that dropped on Monday, saying it ‘definitely did cause a lot of fallouts’ and that she knew ‘if I didn’t stop that it was really causing the relationship a lot of damage’.
‘When I stopped, we had to really do some work on our relationship because my drinking had been quite problematic,’ she said on Rise with Roxie.
‘Anyone in a relationship, I think, that has an unhealthy relationship with alcohol will know what it’s like to constantly wake up and regret something you’ve said or something you did and constantly feel like you’re on the back foot with your partner because you’ll regret something that happened when you were drinking.’
A source revealed to The Daily Mail that the couple is ‘currently going through a separation and have sadly decided to split’.
‘They have known each other for many years, and in recent weeks, have had serious conversations about their future, ultimately deciding it’s better for them both to part ways.
‘Their main priority remains their children and family life, and separating is not something they ever hoped would happen.
‘At present, they are considering what living apart might look like and how they plan to navigate co-parenting their young children.’
The insider also acknowledged it had been ‘an incredibly difficult start to the year, and one they hope to continue managing in private’.
Millie and Hugo initially got together in 2011 during their run on the E4 reality show, but later split.
In 2013 Millie then tied the knot with rapper Professor Green, but the marriage ended in divorce three years later.
That same year, Millie and Hugo found their way back to each other after time apart, getting married two years later.
Parenthood soon followed: their daughter Sienna was born in 2020, with Aurelia arriving just a year later.
