Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix has made his first public comments following the fractured ankle that he suffered during Denver’s win over the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round of the AFC playoffs.
The injury forced Nix to miss the AFC Championship game last weekend, which the Broncos lost to the New England Patriots, 10-7. Denver's offense struggled mightily without their starting quarterback.
Nix's comments are about what you’d expect from a player who was just forced to watch his team lose their biggest game of the season without him.
"There was not much I could do about it," the quarterback said. "Just to watch the team out there, man, it's tough to see. You go down, the show just keeps right on going. That's the toughest part. You feel like you've got a little FOMO. You just miss being out there.

"It was a bummer," he added. "It was a tough week. It was not necessarily the most fun I've ever had playing football."
Despite the disappointment that came with the injury, Nix thinks that the experience will help him to be more motivated – and more appreciative – moving forward.
“But life teaches you lessons,” Nix said. “You know this adversity is good. ... For me it's just going to make playing in one of these games all that much more special. I can't go back and play in that one, but, man, I can do something to ... see how many I can play in in the future. That drives me."
Despite the ultimate outcome, the 2025 campaign was a major success for both Nix and the Broncos, as they were able to advance to the AFC title game for the first time since 2015.
Nix's recovery time for the ankle injury is reportedly about four to six weeks, so he should be fully back and healthy for the onset of the 2026 season.
