UConn women’s basketball will be without six players tonight against Xavier (8 p.m. ET, Peacock). Serah Williams (ankle), Blanca Quiñonez (shoulder), Caroline Ducharme (migraine) and Gandy Malou-Mamel (illness) were all new additions to the availability report and will join Morgan Cheli (foot/ankle) and Ice Brady (knee) on the sidelines.
The Huskies will have just nine players available.
Williams left the win at Seton Hall on Saturday early in the second half with an apparent leg injury. Geno Auriemma said afterwards that she took a knee to the calf, so it’s not clear if the ankle issue is related.
Meanwhile, Quiñonez missed UConn’s first two games with a shoulder injury while Ducharme sat out three games with a shoulder injury in late December as well as the win over Notre Dame with an illness. Malou-Mamel has played just twice this season and not since Nov. 30.
As for Brady and Cheli, they remain out with long-term injuries.
With Williams unavailable, the Huskies will use a different starting lineup for the second time this season.
Tip-off from Gampel Pavilion is set for 8 p.m. ET on Peacock. UConn will induct Aaliyah Edwards into the Huskies of Honor at approximately 7:30 p.m. ET.
