Alex de Minaur is stepping out of game mode and into wedding planning mode.
At the 2026 Australian Open, the Australian tennis star, 26, opened up about planning his upcoming nuptials with his British fiancée, fellow tennis pro Katie Boulter.
In a video captioned "Happy wife, happy life 😉," posted by the official Australian Open X account amid the tournament, which runs from Jan. 12 through Feb. 1 at Melbourne Park, the groom-to-be promised that he won't leave all the wedding work to Boulter, 29.

"How involved are you planning to be in this wedding planning? Are you going to leave it to Katie?" former tennis star Jim Courier, 55, asked, to which de Minaur firmly responded, "No, this is like a 50-50 relationship, right?"
Boulter watched the exchange from the stands because she had an early exit from the tournament at the hands of Belinda Bencic. She began smiling and laughing after Courier said to her fiancé, "You've not been married. You don't know. You're about to become a 49% shareholder of a really great company."
The bride-to-be later shared a playful response on Instagram by captioning a photo of herself, "51% shareholder 😏."
In de Minaur's post-match interview, per Fox Sports, he continued, "Honestly, the fact that we're both tennis players and we've both got quite a busy schedule, we are doing as much as we can together. Yeah, I've been involved so far in some of the decisions — I'm sure when it comes to details of like napkins and flowers and decoration purposes — that's not my forte, I'll leave that to Katie."

The couple announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post on Dec. 23, 2024. "We’ve been keeping a small secret… 🤭," Boulter captioned a selfie in which her left hand rested on her fiancé's chest, prominently displaying her sparkling diamond engagement ring.

World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz defeated de Minaur in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
The 2026 Australian Open men's final is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 1.
