Adam Wharton prefers Liverpool over Real Madrid and Manchester United

Liverpool have held fresh talks for Adam Wharton, who is viewed internally as a leading midfield target. The 21-year-old Crystal Palace and England midfielder has seen his profile rise rapidly following his move from Blackburn.

According to Dave Ockop, Liverpool’s interest is firm, with confidence growing internally over the possibility of a deal.

Adam Wharton is also being monitored by Real Madrid and Manchester United, but he is understood to be drawn to Liverpool’s long-term project and views Anfield as his preferred destination.

The midfielder has been a key figure for Crystal Palace this season, both statistically and tactically.

Liverpool offer £86.6 million for Wharton

Reports from Spain have suggested Liverpool are prepared to make a significant financial commitment to secure Adam Wharton’s signature.

As reported by El Nacional, Liverpool are currently positioned as the club pushing hardest for the midfielder. The £86.6 million proposed figure would place the midfielder among the most expensive signings in the club’s history.

The same reports indicate Liverpool would be open to allowing Wharton to remain at Crystal Palace until the end of the season if an agreement is reached. Real Madrid are said to admire the player but view the valuation as excessive.

Andy Robertson to Spurs off due to AS Roma

Speculation linking Andy Robertson with Tottenham Hotspur has cooled amid developments involving AS Roma. The situation is tied to Liverpool’s wider defensive planning rather than a direct approach from Spurs.

As per Gianluca Di Marzio, AS Roma are not expected to terminate Konstantinos Tsimikas’ loan from Liverpool early, which reduces the likelihood of movement involving Robertson in the short term.

Roma’s stance removes immediate pressure on Liverpool to make defensive adjustments. Talks have taken place, but the expectation is that the situation will remain unchanged.
