Manchester United may have just been handed an unmissable transfer opportunity to sign Gonçalo Ramos.
The Paris Saint-Germain striker is a player the Red Devils have tracked for some time.
A long-term United target
He was among the forwards the club considered signing in the summer of 2023 for Erik ten Hag, but that move never materialised.
Instead, PSG prised him away from the Estádio da Luz, initially on a one-year loan before completing a €65 million (£57m) deal in 2024. Unfortunately, at the Parc des Princes, Ramos has struggled to establish himself in a key role.
Keen to take advantage of that, United were once again eager to land his services last summer.
But the Portuguese forward, who has primarily been a squad player for the Champions League winners and often featured off the bench, remained at PSG.
Numbers still prolific
Despite his struggles for game time, his statistics suggest he remains the prolific goalscorer he was at Benfica, where he netted 19 goals in 30 games during his final season.

Ramos unsettled
Yet, as decent as his numbers have been in Ligue 1, the 24-year-old is far from satisfied with his situation.
As Foot Parisien reveal:
“While he has served as a super-sub with ruthless efficiency, Gonçalo Ramos doesn’t seem inclined to remain in the shadows at PSG for long. His departure at the end of the season appears increasingly likely.”
On the subject of where and when he could leave, the report adds:
“Sought after by Manchester United, Juventus, and Atlético Madrid, Gonçalo Ramos knows he’ll have plenty of options if PSG decides to let him go. Focused on the 2026 World Cup with Portugal, the striker seems ready to leave PSG after the tournament.
“Barring any surprises, if an offer exceeding his purchase price (€60 million) arrives, Luis Enrique will let him go.”
Zirkzee replacement
With Joshua Zirkzee unsettled and keen to move on, with several clubs circling, INEOS may bow to pressure and allow him to leave.
Should that happen, Ramos could emerge as the perfect replacement. A prolific goalscorer in his own right, the Ligue 1 striker would provide fierce competition for Benjamin Sesko and massively raise the levels of United’s attack, helping the club in their bid to regain their brilliance.
