Katie Price and Lee Andrews
Katie Price has hit the headlines this week amid the news that she is married once again. The former glamour model tied the knot with Lee Andrews in Dubai with the businessman becoming her fourth husband after Peter Andre (2005-2009), Alex Reid (2010-2012) and Kieran Hayler (2013-2021). However, this union may have taken even Price’s closest friends and family members by surprise – as it’s believed she had known Lee for only one week before getting hitched. In a statement to The Sun Katie said: ‘How I met Lee was esoteric; we connected [by] both checking each other’s socials and quickly realised, “Wow, this is for me.” In the old-fashioned way, first by words, which captured us both.’ (Picture: @wesleeeandrews)

She went on: ‘That evolved deeper as we connected further within days, [getting] matching tattoos, and then both deciding to buy rings for the other. All this without even meeting, we let fate, but you could [say] destiny, decide. I’m just so happy with my person that is just as happy as I am. What we have, they haven’t even invented the words.’ But while the marriage might have left some stunned, whirlwind romances are not that uncommon in the celebrity world. Let’s take a look at some other famous couples who got together, got engaged and tied the knot in a short space of time… (Picture: @wesleeeandrews)

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson

This one’s the very definition of whirlwind. Ariana Grande met actor and comedian Pete Davidson on the set of Saturday Night Live in 2016 – but they reconnected in May 2018 after splitting from their respective partners. By the following month they had not only got engaged but had sealed the deal with matching tattoos. However, despite moving in together and going public on various red carpets, they’d called it a day by October of that year. Ariana is now dating her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater, while Pete is now in a relationship with model Elsie Hewitt, with the couple welcoming daughter Scottie Rose in December 2025. Zoe Saldana and Marco Perego

Oscar-winning actress Zoe Saldana met artist Marco Perego on an early morning Virgin Atlantic flight in 2013 – and it was love at first sight. The spark was there ‘before I even saw his face,’ she previously told USA Today. ‘I just saw him from behind. It was 6:30 in the morning, I was on a flight to New York. And I can’t even describe to you, it was a vibration.’ The couple dated for just a few months before deciding to take things to the next level, and they tied the knot just three weeks later. Britney Spears and Kevin Federline

Britney Spears and actor-dancer Kevin Federline kept us glued to the gossip columns in the Noughties when they got married in September 2004, after just a few months of dating. They went on to star in their own reality show, Britney and Kevin: Chaotic as well as becoming parents to sons Sean Preston and Jayden James. However, Britney filed for divorce in November 2006, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’, and the couple split in 2007. They later entered legal battles over custody of their sons, with Kevin being granted full custody and Britney visitation rights – before this was changed to her being given 30% custody in 2019. Kevin is now married to Victoria Prince. Britney, meanwhile, married Sam Asghari in June 2022, but the union lasted just 14 months. (Picture: Jason Merritt/FilmMagic)

Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky

Thor star Chris Hemsworth is another big name who had his head turned by the spell of a whirlwind romance. The Australian-born actor was introduced to Spanish model/actress Elsa Pataky – best known for her role as Elena Neves in the Fast and Furious franchise – by agent William Ward in early 2010. By September of that year they were dating, and by December they were married. And their partnership has stood the test of time too, with the pair still very much together, and parents to three sons. As for their speedy path up the aisle: ‘It felt right,’ Chris told Good Morning Britain. ‘It just made sense.’ (Picture: Jeff Spicer/Getty Images)

Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee

One of the most notorious whirlwind romances of the 1990s, Baywatch star Pamela Anderson got hitched to the Motley Crue drummer on a Cancun beach in February 1995, just four days after they met. The couple had two sons, Brandon Thomas and Dylan Jagger. However, their marriage ultimately ended in 1998 after Tommy was arrested for ‘spousal abuse’. ‘The divorce from Tommy was the hardest, lowest, most difficult point of my life,’ wrote Pamela in her memoir. It later formed the basis for the Disney miniseries Pam and Tommy, which saw them played by Lily James and Sebastian Stan. (Picture: Steve Starr/CORBIS/Corbis via Getty Images)

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon took everybody by surprise when they tied the knot in a secret ceremony in the Bahamas in 2008, after just a few months of dating. The Hero singer and the America’s Got Talent host were first romantically linked when he starred in her Bye Bye music video in 2008. After getting hitched they went on to become parents to twins Moroccan and Monroe. Sadly it wasn’t to last, with the pair splitting in 2014 and finalising their divorce in 2016, although they continue to co-parent their children and Nick has since admitted he ‘wouldn’t be alive’ without the singer, who got him through a devastating lupus diagnosis in 2012. ‘She was the perfect helpmate, the perfect matriarch, the perfect mom, the perfect wife in those scenarios,’ he told the Diary of a CEO podcast. Cheryl and Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini

Anyone who watched The X Factor on a Saturday night in the 2010s may well remember that brief period when Cheryl was introduced triumphantly as Cheryl Fernandez-Versini following that whirlwind romance of hers. The Girls Aloud star began dating French businessman Jean-Bernard in May 2014, with the pair spotted enjoying date nights at the Cannes Film Festival, and she announced in July of that year that they were husband and wife. Cheryl broke the news on Instagram with a snap of a sparkling diamond ring as she said: ‘We are very happy and excited to move forward with our lives together.’ It wasn’t to be, with the marriage lasting less than 18 months before Cheryl filed for divorce, citing ‘unreasonable behaviour’. She subsequently dated late One Direction star Liam Payne, who was the father of her son Bear. (Picture: Ricky Vigil M/GC Images)

Justin and Hailey Bieber

This one’s a bit more complicated as the pair had known each other for years, but married quickly after reconnecting. Justin Bieber and model Hailey Baldwin first met in 2009 and had dated on and off as teenagers but it wasn’t until 2018, one month after getting back together following a two-year break, that Justin proposed. ‘So committed to spending my life getting to know every single part of you loving you patiently and kindly. I promise to lead our family with honor and integrity letting Jesus through his Holy Spirit guide us in everything we do and every decision we make,’ the Baby singer said on social media. The couple didn’t waste time, getting hitched in September 2018 before having a second, more formal ceremony a year later. They welcomed their first child, son Jack Blues Bieber, in August 2024.(Picture: Aeon/GC Images)
