Texas A&M (16-4, 6-1 SEC) has yet to enter the US LBM Coaches Poll or AP Top 25 rankings, even though the Aggies sit atop the SEC standings at 6-1, and are coming off back-to-back blowouts against Mississippi State and South Carolina, beating both teams by a combined 180-137, including 17 three-pointers against the Gamecocks led by reserve forward Zach Clemence's career high 21 points and seven threes.

The Aggies are by far one of the hottest teams in the country, and while the SEC schedule thus far has been relatively light, Texas A&M will now face the 2nd hardest remaining schedule in the country, starting with road trips against Georgia on Saturday and Alabama next Wednesday.

After that, hosting Florida and Missouri leads into a road battle vs. Vanderbilt, as the five games will essentially define head coach Bucky McMillan's first season at the helm, which is already a rousing success. One of the main reasons the Aggies still aren't ranked likely stems from early losses to Oklahoma State, UCF, and SMU, as the Aggies should have won the latter two games.

Furthermore, Texas A&M would be 7-0 in SEC play if free throws weren't an issue against Tennessee on the road, but sitting at 16-4 at this stage of the season provides some breathing room. For the Aggies to further solidify their NCAA Tournament résumé, finishing the next five-game stretch at 3-2 or even 2-3 would go a long way towards reaching the postseason.

On Monday, college basketball analyst Andy Katz released his updated Top 37 rankings, and after surging to No. 26 last week, the Aggies rose four more spots to No. 22 after defeating South Carolina. If the Aggies defeat Georgia on Saturday, Texas A&M is in a prime position heading into the final full month of the 2026 regular season.
