Bea Pollard (Ronni Ancona) has only been in Walford all of five minutes, but she risks making an enemy she may live to regret in EastEnders next week.
The quirky newcomer was first introduced earlier this month during a reunion event for Linda Carter’s (Kellie Bright) former school.
After it was revealed that Linda hadn’t exactly been the kindest to Bea when they were classmates, the former Queen Vic landlady sought to put right her wrongs by offering to put Bea up in her new ‘boutique hotel’ when she was thrown out of her flat – much to the dismay of Linda’s mum Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe).
Since then, Bea has been getting used to life in Walford, and after helping Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) out following an incident with some teenagers at the Minute Mart, she’s landed herself a job working at the Panesar-owned shop.
However, there have been some suspicions that Bea has an ulterior motive for getting closer to Honey, and next week, she randomly sets out to destroy Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) on behalf of her new pal.
On Monday’s episode, Honey is showing Bea the ropes on her first day when Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota) arrives and is rude to Honey, which rubs Bea up the wrong way.
She’s then further infuriated when their boss Suki is less than sympathetic towards Honey when she hurts her back during her shift, declaring that Honey should sue the Panesars for her workplace injury.
After Bea and Honey later knock back some wine together after work, they fantasise about Bea’s suggestion to take legal action against Suki.
Then, Bea is rocked when a tipsy Honey lets slip that Suki once tried to kiss her – something that isn’t exactly common knowledge in Albert Square.
Now armed with some juicy gossip, Bea is more determined than ever to bring her new enemy down. But given Suki’s often unorthodox ways of dealing with problems (just ask Keanu Taylor), is she about to bite off way more than she can chew?
EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 2nd February at 7.30pm on BBC One or stream first from 6am on iPlayer.
