Now that the Eagles have closed the book on the 2025 NFL season, they have turned their full attention to filling their vacant offensive coordinator position.
The Eagles have reportedly given some OC candidates certain assurances that they would have autonomy over the offense, and Howie Roseman and Nick Sirianni confirmed as much in their end-of-season news conference. Sirianni said it was too early to know exactly how things would be structured because there’s a variety of candidates they’ll consider, but said there wouldn’t be any interference.
Here’s everything we’re hearing regarding their search and who they are bringing in for interviews.
Confirmed and Completed Interviews
- Jan. 27: It appears that this current round of OC interviews for the Eagles will include several QB coaches, with the latest candidate being Packers quarterback coach, and former NFL QB, Sean Mannion.
- Jan. 26: The Eagles are planning to meet with Texans’ QB coach Jerrod Johnson for their OC job. Johnson had previously been on Nick Sirianni’s offensive staff in 2020 — the former QB was also an undrafted free agent signing by the Eagles in 2011, but was released before final roster cuts.
- Jan. 26: After missing out on Mike McDaniel, the Eagles opted to interview someone familiar with his scheme, and talked to Dolphins OC Frank Smith for their vacant position, per report.
- Jan. 23: The Eagles have completed an interview with Dolphins senior passing game coordinator Bobby Slowik for the OC job, per report.
- Jan. 21: The Eagles reportedly completed an interview with Matt Nagy on Wednesday — the former Chiefs OC and Andy Reid’s former intern/assistant in Philly from 2008-2012 hadn’t been linked to the Eagles OC job yet, but it’s encouraging that the team is exploring all options.
- Jan. 21: Mike McDaniel is officially off the board after agreeing to move forward as the Chargers OC, but reports confirmed on Wednesday that the Eagles did have a lengthy virtual interview with McDaniel before he took the other job.

- Jan. 19: The Eagles are expected to interview former Bucs OCJosh Grizzard on Monday, according to Jordan Schultz.
- Jan. 18: The Eagles completed an interview with Jim Bob Cooter on Saturday, per reports. Colts head coach Shane Steichen has been open to consider letting Cooter go elsewhere for a play-calling opportunity.
- Jan. 17: Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported that the Eagles completed an interview with Giants interim head coach/OC Mike Kafka. The former NFL quarterback played for Philadelphia in 2011 and played in four games, but injuries and an impressive Mike Vick derailed his career.
- Jan. 16: The Eagles first OC interview was with Falcons OC Zac Robinson.
Candidates no longer available
- Jan. 27: Something that was expected for awhile now, but Brian Daboll is officially off the board — the Bills announced they hired Joe Brady as their next head coach, which led Daboll to officially joining the Titans staff as their offensive coordinator. After meeting with the Eagles, it was reported that Daboll preferred the Buffalo or Tennessee jobs over the OC job in Philadelphia.
- Jan. 26: Another one off the board for the Eagles with Mike Kafka accepting a “high-ranking offensive staff role” with the Lions, according to Tom Pelissero.

- Jan. 19: The Lions are hiring Cardinals OC Drew Petzing— he wasn’t connected with the Eagles job, but Mike McDaniel was an option for Detroit, so Miami’s former head coach could still be a candidate for Philly.
