Renault has unveiled the all-new 2026 Duster, bringing major upgrades in design, technology and powertrain options compared to the outgoing model. The SUV is built on Renault Group’s new Modular Platform, developed specifically for Indian road and climate conditions.Renault Duster 2026 Engine options:The 2026 Duster will be offered with multiple powertrain choices, including turbo-petrol and strong hybrid options. The range-topping Turbo TCe 160 engine produces 163 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque, paired with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed wet-clutch dual-clutch transmission. Renault will also offer a Turbo TCe 100 petrol variant delivering 100 PS and 160 Nm, mated to a six-speed manual transmission. In addition, the company has introduced a Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 powertrain that combines a 1.8-litre petrol engine with a 1.4 kWh battery pack. Renault claims the hybrid system can operate in electric mode for up to 80 per cent of city driving, with deliveries scheduled to begin around Diwali 2026. 127562212Renault Duster 2026 DesignDesign-wise, the new Duster retains its rugged SUV DNA but adopts a sharper and more muscular stance. It offers a ground clearance of 212 mm, along with approach and departure angles of 26.9 degrees and 34.7 degrees respectively. Exterior highlights include full LED lighting, Y-shaped LED daytime running lights, a trapezoidal grille, larger alloy wheels measuring up to 18 inches, and a sculpted rear with Y-shaped LED tail-lamps and a horizontal light bar. A new “Mountain Jade Green” colour, inspired by Himalayan forests, has also been added to the palette. In terms of dimensions, the 2026 Duster measures 4,346 mm in length, 1,815 mm in width and 1,703 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,657 mm. These proportions give it a wider and more planted stance than the previous generation. 127562250Renault Duster 2026 InteriorThe interior has been completely redesigned, moving away from the old Duster’s functional but dated cabin. The new model features a driver-centric, fighter jet-inspired cockpit with a strong horizontal dashboard layout. It gets a 10.1-inch OpenR Link touchscreen infotainment system with Google built-in, paired with a 10.25-inch fully digital driver display. Material quality has been improved with textured surfaces, layered trims and contrast stitching, while the centre console offers better storage and a more modern layout.Old vs New DusterThe 2026 Duster now offers a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and electrically adjustable front seats, an electric tailgate, connected car technology and advanced driver assistance systems with 17 India-specific features, along with a 360-degree camera—features that were missing on the older SUV.Compared to the previous-generation Duster, the new model shows a dramatic shift in design. The older SUV had a softer, rounded appearance, while the 2026 version looks wider, taller and more upright. Wheel sizes have increased from 16 inches to 17- and 18-inch options, the bonnet is flatter and more sculpted, and the rear door handles have been repositioned to the C-pillar for a cleaner side profile. 127562284Mechanically, the outgoing Duster was offered with a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 106 PS and a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol making 156 PS. The new lineup delivers higher power outputs and adds hybrid technology, improving both performance and efficiency.Renault will offer the 2026 Duster with a seven-year or 1,50,000 km warranty under its ‘Renault Forever’ programme. Pre-bookings are open through an R Pass priced at Rs 21,000, which offers priority delivery and introductory benefits. Prices are expected to be announced in mid-March 2026, with customer deliveries beginning in April 2026. Hybrid variants will follow later during the festive season.
